Teaching about Light

Today we learned about some properties of light, specifically the terms translucent, transparent, and opaque.
First, we watched this Brainpop video and used our science text.

Then we made these cards using index cards, tissue paper, transparencies, and construction paper.

I used this PPT slide as well.

Lastly, we did this sorting activity.  Students made predictions about whether objects were translucent, transparent or opaque.  Then, they examined the objects and used a flashlight to determine the results.

Blessings to you,
Kris
